My name is Sally Morgan and I represent ‘Nature’s gifts’ because my first
novel My Place, published in 1987, which tells the story of my discovering and
coming to terms with my Aboriginal ancestry, was a best seller. My second novel was Wanamurraganya,
published in 1989. It tells the story of my grandfather through Aboriginal kinship. Both
books won the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission award for literature, and in
1989 I was made West Australian citizen of the year.
