born on 1 July 1953 at Maningrida, Arnhem Land, in the Northern Territory
My name is David Gulpilil and I represent ‘Nature’s gifts’ because I am
the son of generations of chief dancers of the Mandalbingu people. I taught Aboriginal
dance at a Mission School. I was also dance champion four times in a row at the Darwin
Australia Day Eisteddfod and have acted in several Australian films.
