born on 25 February 1927 at Kempsey in New South Wales.
My name is Slim Dusty and I represent ‘Nature’s gifts’ because my
recording of Gordon Parson’s ‘The Pub with No Beer’ in 1957 was the first
Australian recording to make it into the English charts. It sold well in 11 countries
around the world and won for me the first-ever-Australian gold record. Also, for more than
30 years my ‘Slim Dusty Show’ has toured Australia’s country areas.
